Want to read on the go all the time? Well, Amazon’s
Kindle 2 is the new iBook for you then. Read hundreds of thousands of books at a drop of a hat. Here is how it works, you purcahse
Kindle 2 from Amazon. It then then connects seamlessly with the Amazon website and allows you to purchase books which can then be downloaded to the Kindle 2 instantly. It’s that easy! It is a bit costly around $359.00 but think of all the room you will save when you go on long trips and want to bring 5 hardcover novels with you. You can also download free documents and books from public domains such as
Wikipedia,
Google and other text-type websites for easy web-browsing. A computer connection is never needed as it has a built-in wireless network over the
Sprint network!

I’m normally a fairly happy gal, but upon reading this latest tidbit from the
Examiner I find myself despairing for the future of homeless cats and dogs in California.
Currently shelters are required to keep an animal for 6 days before euthanizing them, but Schwarzenegger’s new proposal would cut that down to a mere 3 days! That is not very much time to find your lost pet, nor does it give homeless animals a fair shot at finding a home.
Personal note: I lost my cat last year and it took me 3 days to find her, under this new plan I might have discovered I’d been a few hours late on finding my pet. Words cannot express the loss I would have felt if I’d missed the window and she’d been put to sleep.
I’ve already voiced my concerns. If you feel the same, I urge you to reach out to the governor yourself. You can find his contact information at

I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t like whiter teeth, do you? Be careful what you wish for though, you don’t want to end up looking like Ross from “Friends.”
With
Enamadent you don’t have to worry about that. It’s ingredients do not produce the unnatural white that resembles bleached paper; rather, it is a white aligned to an individual’s natural shade of white. The good thing about Enamadent is that there are no whitening trays, strips or other agents involved! just apply after brushing your teeth two or three times a day!
One reason I was drawn to Enamadent is the fact that when I used the Crest Whitening Strips for the 2 weeks I was supposed to, my gums and teeth became super sensitive to the food I was eating right down to when the air would hit my teeth while talking. A friend of mine introduced me to Enamadent and has had nothing but great things to say about it!
Enamadent’s natural whitening only relies on the imaginative use of minerals and botanicals for its improvements to the overall appearance of tooth enamel surfaces. This product eliminates any concern about adverse side-effects. I am ready to whiten! Are you?

So apparently the recession hasn’t put a damper on fashion’s thirst for blood.
Hermes CEO Patrick Thomas was quoted saying that the demand for their crocodile handbags is so massive, they’ve actually started breeding crocodiles just for that purpose in Australia.
The high fashion label has had to make customers wait, gasp, several years for bags made from the exotic skins, which can cost upwards of 48 thousand dollars apiece. My baby brother is buying a condo in California for that amount! No joke!
I’m not sure what I’m more disgusted by, the ludicrous price tag or the unnecessary cruelty.

I have been in the market for some new Converse Chuck Taylors, until I stumbled upon Ethletic Low Tops which are Fair Trade certified, sweatshop-free, made from organic cotton canvas and have a natural and sustainable latex sole that are only $54.00 (about $14.00 dollars more you would spend but think about how much good you are doing for earth and people). I love to dress down a sundress or throw them on for lazy Sunday afternoon.
Gotta love eco friendly kicks!

Hi all,
So as a new homeowner (I say “new” but my home is 103 years old!) I am now confronted with endless choices. Did you know that there are like 20 shades of white paint available at Home Depot!? I mean how’s a girl to choose?
Now I had planned on having my floors redone in the 2 bedrooms. I had made the assumption that there was gorgeous 103 year old floor underneath the filthy icky carpets. And there was. In some places…The rest was unfortunately badly damaged and would require a full redo. Which is more than Miss T has budgeted for this particular project. Let’s not forget, there’s always shoes to be bought people! So I guess carpet is the way to go.
Now doing some research I have learned about two great environmentally friendly options from Mowawk Flooring. So if you’re in the middle of carpet decisions yourself be sure to check out EverStrand™, which is made from recycled plastic bottles, or SmartStrand® with DuPont™ Sorona® which uses renewable resources provided by agriculture. All these little choices do add up after a while!
I’ll hopefully have pictures to share at some point of my little Victorian Cottage by the sea.

Oh and I went with popcorn white on the ceiling for the record. Which looks particularly fabulous with the turquoise walls and original wood molding.

If you have time and a need for an adventure this summer, check out Roadmonkey . Roadmonkey is an organization that is led by Paul von Zielbauer, an award-winning reporter and Iraq war correspondent for the New York Times. He takes travel to a philanthropic level. Forget the Colosseum Tour (even though it was my favorite stop in Rome), forget the Eiffel Tower (over-rated), forget the Gaudi art in Barcelona and take a real exploration of the land you are visiting and along the way complete a meaningful Roadmonkey volunteer project that directly benefits local people and communities in need.
Go on, live a little…

So great that organic, natural clothing options are becoming more accessible to all!!! Why is this important? Well for every conventionally manufactured tee-shirt, six ounces of toxic pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers find their way into the water we drink, the air we breathe and the food we eat! Until now, most organic clothing was at least double the cost of conventional clothing. Well, sounds like that will not be the case anymore!
Wal-Mart Wal-Mart and Kmart are adding full lines of organic jeans made by Washington-based Greensource to their private label clothing lines.
Greensource (sounds like a great company!) provides T-shirts, jeans and other apparel made from a variety of greener sources, including organic cotton, bamboo and recycled polyester.
All five of the company’s manufacturing facilities have been certified to the voluntary Global Organic Textile Standard. Wal-Mart’s Faded Glory label and Kmart’s Route 66 brand will each offer men’s, women’s and children’s jeans made with organic cotton.
How cool is this? Every Greensource-made garment also comes with a tracking number, and consumers can plug those numbers in at Greensource’s website to see the growing field, spinning mill and factory that piece of clothing came from. I would love to do something like this with our cosmetic ingredients!
